Minbuza
MINBUZA (or “Folk Dance Group”)
Through the medium of Japanese folk dance, MINBUZA introduces audiences to the culture and history of Japan, as well as the spirit of the Japanese people!
We maintain an extensive collection of authentic music, colorful costumes, and props, which enables us to perform traditional dances originating from all over Japan. A variety of fascinating customs and occupations are highlighted in the course of each performance.
We have performed at theaters, museums, schools, and many other venues and events, including the Gwinnett Performing Art Center (Atlanta, GA), Epcot Pavilion at Disney World (Orlando, FL), the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (NYC), and the famed Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. We have also performed internationally, with Taikoza in Switzerland and Russia on their European Tour.
In the entertainment realm, we have appeared on Regis & Kelly and in the music video for Madonna’s “Nothing Really Matters.”
Minbuza is especially proud of its work with various school audiences, both public and private.
